Rowley’s take its responsibility for ensuring that it complies with its legal obligations in relation to the storing of your personal information extremely seriously.
The purpose of this policy is to explain, in a clear and concise way, how we treat the personal information you give us when you use our website or when you use one of our services.

Rowley’s endeavours to ensure that any personal information you provide is kept secure and that any unauthorised access is prevented. All personal information is processed and stored in accordance with current data protection legislation.
We obtain personal information from you when you use one of our services. This is normally when you register to receive our auction calendar, request auction catalogues or buy or sell with Rowley’s. The information you give usually includes your name, address, email address, telephone numbers and sometimes, where appropriate, your bank details. When buying or selling with Rowley’s some of this information will be compulsory.
The personal information you give to Rowley’s, either verbally or in writing, by completing one of our forms, by email or by telephone or otherwise will only be used by Rowley’s. Our database is hosted by Bidmaster, part of the Auction Technology Group, The Harlequin Building, 65 Southwark Street, London SE1 0HR and as a result Bidmaster may have access to the information you provide but they are not allowed to use your information for their own purposes.
Rowley’s uses the personal information you provide to enter into a contract with you when you buy or sell at one of Rowley’s auctions, to provide you with information about Rowley’s auction calendar, to send you Rowley’s auction catalogues and for any other reasonable purposes which might, we believe, be of interest to you or for which you have provided the information. If you become a client of Rowley’s, by buying or selling at one of our auctions, we may send you further information that is related to the items you have bought or sold by post, email or contact you by telephone.
We will share some, or all, of your personal information with third party service providers only if it is necessary for us to do so in order to provide you with information. We use iContact who provide an email marketing delivery service. It should be emphasised that such third party providers are not allowed to use your information for their own purposes.
We will retain your personal information for as long as you agree for us to hold it and until we receive written notification from you removing your consent. We will keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary to provide you with the service for which it was given. Furthermore, if you buy or sell with Rowley’s, we will retain your personal information for a period of seven years in order that Rowley’s complies with the law concerning the retention of financial information.
Rowley’s are committed to ensuring that the personal information you provide us is stored securely and that your privacy is protected.
It is important that if there are any changes in your personal information you let Rowley’s know of this, in writing, so we can update our records and keep the information we hold for you up to date and accurate. You have a right to access information that Rowley’s holds about you in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Rowley’s may require identification before disclosing the information we hold to you and may, in certain circumstances, withhold access to your information where it has the right to do so under current data protection legislation.
