Free Sale Valuations

If your aim is to sell an item or collection at auction, then Rowley’s will be happy to provide estimates free of charge. Our specialists are always pleased to give a free verbal auction estimate on any item brought to the salerooms. Alternatively, please a photograph, brief description and dimensions. If you have a number of items or a full house of contents, please contact us and we will organize one of our valuers to visit you in the convenience and privacy of your own home.

Insurance Valuations

Over time, the value of antiques, art, and collectables can increase and sometimes decrease considerably — often without the owner being aware of it. When it comes to insuring these items, it is vital that their true value is registered so that they are properly covered in the event of damage or loss and ensuring that insurance companies settle claims quickly and in full.

However large or small your collection, Rowley’s can offer a confidential insurance valuation service to suit your needs. Our valuation document is easily understandable and has been designed to present each item in a clear, simple and readily accessible way. It provides a clearly defined record in category and location order, whilst additional information such as provenance and acquisition value can be tailored to your individual requirements. Many leading insurance brokers and underwriters offer certain discounts based on valuations Many insurance companies offer a discounted premium to clients who have an inventory or valuation of their chattels prepared by Rowley’s.

Charges are agreed in advance and are normally worked out on a time basis. We undertake a review of each valuation every five years to ensure that changes in the market and subsequent additions or removal of chattels are reflected in the valuation, and any increase or reduction in cover can be put in place.

Mini-Valuations

For clients who have only a few chattels Rowley Fine Art are able to prepare mini-valuations. These are still adequate documentary proof for insurance companies, but are prepared for a competitive flat fee which is a fraction of the cost of a full valuation.

Insurance Claim Assistance Service

Our Insurance Claim Assistance Service has been developed to help clients who have need of advice when making an insurance claim particularly when clients do not have a current inventory or valuation. Our specialists have many years experience in valuing items and our success rate in achieving a fair settlement is extremely high.
